The Fallen Man by John Bernhardt

American modernist, woodblock maker and assemblage artist John Bernhardt shows a worker fallen on the job being held up by another worker. Note how Bernhardt conveys intense emotion in the faces, and the gestures of hands and feet. The image is part of the Labor Arts exhibit Scenes of American Labor with art works that evoke the individual and physical experience of work. The entire series is housed at the Sullivan Goss Gallery in Santa Barbara, CA.
